'Pupil Premium' is a sum of money delegated from the central Government to schools, based on a number of measures.

These measures include eligibility for Free School Meals, children who did not achieve the national average at Year Two, children whose parents are in the Armed Forces and the IDACI index.

IDACI stands for Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index, and it is a Government formula based on post-code.

At Birdsedge First School, we believe that it is our role to ensure that every child achieves to the best of their ability and is supported and developed. Our children matter to us and, together with Parents and Carers, we work to ensure that they gain the knowledge, skills and enriching experiences that allow them to access and succeed at the next stage of their education.
